Agenda Pattern of QA section in MBA entrance exams QA syllabus for MBA entrance How to prepare for QA section Common Questions on QA section

Pattern of QA section . CAT- 34 Questions to be done in 60 minutes CMAT-25 questions-No section time limits in CMAT NMAT- 48 Questions- 60 minutes SNAP- 35 Questions - No section time limits . IIFT pattern -20 questions, no section time limits XAT-27 questions-no section time limits

Observations on pattern . Varied number of questions from a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 48 . Nothing fixed vis a vis time limits . Most papers of 3 hours barring a couple which are 2 hours . Some papers - probably accuracy matters In other papers only accuracy speed.

Syllabus for QA . The only sure thing - Nothing is sure!!! . But based on experience - we can broadly divide the pattern into: . Number System, Permutations, Combinations, and Probability, Factors and multiples Arithmetic Averages, Percents, SI-CI, Profit and Loss, Ratio, Mixtures, Partnerships, Variation, Time and work, Time and distance etc Geometry, Coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration Equations, Inequations, Functions, graphs, sequence and series, Logs etc

How to prepare for QA? . Start with basics-Spend at least 25% of the available time Correct terminology and language Basic properties and formulae

How to prepare for QA? Next 25%-Moderate to advanced questions . 25% percent-old papers .Rest of the time- Revision Does Solve some questions in timeliest every day . Beware of misinformation -No solving olympiad level questions Prepare with a likeminded group
