This collection begins with the basics of structure and functions of RBI (Reserve Bank of India). It then deals with one of the most important function of the RBI: being a Banker's bank. After this there is an introduction to the monetary policy of the country, it's objectives and mechanism. The next part of the collection focuses on instruments of credit control under Monetary Policy like Bank Rate, SLR etc. Then it overviews qualitative measure of monetary policy which is also known as a selective measure of monetary policy. They show how they are discriminatory in nature, these instruments, and are applicable to specific areas and it is not applicable to the whole economy. It explains various terms like Margin Requirement, Moral Persuasion, Direct Action etc. The last part of the collection informs us about the fiscal policy, which deals with income and expenditure policy of Government and there is also an introduction and basic tools of fiscal policy explained.
