Cell Biology Presented By: Kunwar Navdeep Singh
Introduction: The Cell Biology is a branch of biology in which we studies about structure and function of the Cell. cell is the basic unit of life . In cell biology we discussed in detail about the anatomy and physiology of cell, like . Cell organelle, cell structure, types, metabolic processes, signaling pathways, life cycle, chemical composition etc.
Cell: . The word cell comes from latin word cella which means "small room" Cell is the basic structural, functional, and biological unit of all known living organisms. . We can say it is the smallest unit of any living body. .
History of Cell: Cells were discovered by an English natural philosopher, architect and polymath Robert Hooke in 1665 which can be found to be described in his book Micrographia. Anton van Leeuwenhoek is another scientist who saw these cells soon after Hooke did. He made use of a microscope containing improved lenses that could magnify objects almost 300-fold. Anton van Leeuwenhoek is also known as "the Father of Microbiology". Credit for developing cell theory is usually given to two scientists: Theodor Schwann and M. J. Schleiden. . .
Types Of Cell: Majorly cell can be sub categorised in two different types: . 1. Prokaryotic Cell * 2. Eukaryotic Cell
Prokaryotic Cell: (DNA) membrane wail Flagellum
Prokaryotic cell: Prokaryotic cell or prokaryotes are mostly unicellular organism . These cells that do not have a true nucleus or most other cell organelles. * Prokaryotes are divided into two domains, Archaea and Bacteria. . Prokaryotic cells contains DNA, RNA, ribosome which makes protein, cytoplasm which contains a cytoskeleton.
Eukaryotic Cell: Cell Membrane Vacuole Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum -Golgi Apparutus Cytoplasm Lysosome Ribosome Centrosome Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum Mitochondrion Cross Section of an Animal Cell
