  2. Root: FID Meaning: ( faith, trust) Example: affidavit, confidential, infidel, bona fide, confident: thoroughly "trusting" yourself in your ability to do something diffident: not "trusting" oneself Fido: dog's name which means "trusty"


  3. confidant: a person whom you can thoroughly "trust" to keep a secret confidential: of that which is told in "trust" perfidious: of going through someone's "trust," hence breaking it Bonafide: In good faith
