1. EFFECTS OF PERCENTAGE CHANGE Short Tricks and Questions

2. Percent ia e s 2alasy mese than If A's Salary is 20 % more than B's salary, than how much percent is B's salary less than A's salary? , than how much Amar has 33.33% more coins than Bharath, by how much percent is Bharath's coin less than that of Amar? Height of Ais 50% greater than B, how much is B's height less than that of A? Due to Amar's bad habits his father reduced his pocket money by 20%, but after few days it got increased to original. What was the increase percentage?

3. If there is an X% increase in value of P over Q, then the decrease in value of Q in respect to P will be x/100+x For example: A's salary is 20% more than B, than how much is B's salary less than A? Lets assume that B's salary is 100, than A's salary will be? = 100 + 20% of 100 or = 100+ 1 /5 of 100 = 120 Now, How much percent is B's salary less from that of A's? => x was 20%. => 20/100+20 = 20/I 20 or

4. Short Method X percent increase will be X/100+X decrease to get back to that value Xarercent increase will be X/100-x decrease to get back to that 20% increase will be 1/5+1= 1 /6 decrease 33.33% increase will be 1/3+1 = 1/4 decrease We are adding the numerator to the denominator to get our value!! 1/8 will be 1/9 1/2 will be 1/3

5. If A's Salary is 40 % more than B's salary, than how much percent is B's salary less than A's salary? 40% = 215. therefore decrease in B's salary in respect to A will be 28.56% (2/7) Solution: B= 1 00 A= 140 B as a % of A= 100/140-5/7 = 71.42% Lesser by 28.56%

6. Amar has 33.33% more coins than Bharath has, by how much percent is Bharath's coin less than that of Amar? 33.33% is 1 /3 therefore, Bharath's coins in respect to Amar's coins will be 1 /4 % less. , Solution B-100 A=133.33 B as a percentage of A= (1 = 100/133.33 = 75% hoo e cgeofA- (100.133.33)/133,33 00-133.33)133.33 Lesser by 25%

7. Due to Amar's bad habits his father reduced his pocket money by 20%, but after few days it got increased to original. What was the increase percentage? = 20% i.e 1/5 is already increase Therefore, you will have to subtract 20% from denominator. 1 / 5-1 = 1 /4 = 25%. Solution, let original pocket money be 100 after deduction of 20% = 80 when it increase back to 100, increase will be 20/80-1/4 = 25%
