Sir it is really very helpful..
  1. Environment and Ecology Pollution By Ankur Mishra

  2. About me B.Tech in Biotechnology Qualified GATE 2013 (AIR-103) M.Tech from IIT Guwahati Hobbies: Playing Cricket, watching action movies, Travelling

  3. Pollution Air Water Thermal An excessive addition of certain materials to a physical environment POLLUTION Light Visual Noise Land Air Pollution Soil Pollution Sound Pollution Water Pollution

  4. Pollution An excessive addition of certain materials to a physical environment Pollutants Form Nature Primary Plastic, DDT Secondary (P+P) Biodegradable Non-Biodegradable (can be degraded) (can't be degraded Ex. Sewage NOx + Hydrocarbons PAN Ex. DDT, radioactive substance

  5. Air Pollution Contamination of air due to harmful substances Two major causes Traffic and industrialization Major Air pollutants Name of pollutant Ozone CO (carbon monoxide) sources Vehicular emission Vehicular emission, burning of fuels Health effects asthma Breathing problems, unconsciousness Respiratory problems Depletion of ozone layer Sulfur oxide Chloroflurocarbon(CFC) Suspended particulate matter (SPM) Lead Industry Refrigerator Vehicular emission ,burning of fuelsReduces development of RBC Petrol, Paints Vehicular emission, Industries Cosmic rays, x rays Silicon quarries Nerves system damage Respiratory problems Destroy living tissues Silicosis affects lungs Radioactive pollutants Silica dust

  6. Air Pollution Bronchial diseases Decrease vit D production Hampers visibility Respiratory problems Formation of smog Smog (Ground level ozone) + LightPhotochemical smog While ozone in the atmosphere protects earth from harmful UV radiation but on the ground is hazardous to the health During the winter, wind speeds are low and causes to smoke and fog to stagnate near the ground Fly Ash combustion of solid materials Advantages cement can be replaced by upto 35 % Aluminum silicates silicon oxides calcium oxides high strength and durability better fill material for road embankments enhance water holding capacity Disadvantage fly ash in air slowly settles on the leaves and crops and lowers the plant yield. Ministry of environment and Forests has made it mandatory to use fly ash in all construction projects within 100km radius of thermal power plant

  7. Air Pollution Air quality index It gives the air quality information O AQl range is from 0 to 500. The higher the AOl value, the greater the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern. For example, an AQl value of 50 represents good air quality with little potential toaffect public health, while an AQl value over 300 represents hazardous air quality AQI has been categorize in 6 parts (good, satisfactory, moderately polluted, poor, very poor and severe AQI considers 8 pollutants (PM10,PM2.5,NO2,SO2,CO,03,NH3 and Pb) Air Quality Index (AQI) Values Levels of Health Concern Colors When the AQI is in this range: air quality conditions are:symbolized by this color 0 to 50 51 to 100 Moderate Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups Orange Unhealthy Very Unhealthy Yellow 101 to 150 151 to 200 Red 201 to 300 Purple 301 to 500 Maroon

  8. Air Pollution Air quality index Measures to control Bharat stage Bharat stage I 1April 2005 Bharat stage II 1 April 2010 Bharat stage IV 1April 2017 Bharat stage V Bharat stage VI 1 April 2020 Nation wise Reduce traffic .Facilitate walking . Decide to implement Bharat stage 4 nationwide in 2017 Bharat stage 6 in 2020 To be skipped Lichen is good bio indicator for air pollution
