WBPSC Prelims syllabus
Before appearing for the WBPSC, the candidate must be aware of the syllabus and examination pattern that is followed for this particular exam. The examination will be conducted in three stages namely, preliminary examination, main examination and interview/personality test. Let us learn about WBCS Preliminary Examination.

Candidates are required to appear for Preliminary examination so that they can be screened and shortlisted for Main examination. The marks scored by candidates in prelims will not be considered for final selection. Candidates who clear prelims will be required to appear for mains.

- Indian National Movement
- Geography of India with special reference to West Bengal
- Indian Polity and Economy
- Current events of National & International Importance
- History of India
- General Science
- English Composition
Note: Each of the eight sections in Prelims syllabus is of 25 marks.
