The Earth: Shape and Size-Atmosphere

The various shapes and sizes of the atmosphere are the main focal point of the present study. The various aspects of the atmosphere are the main point of this study.

Introduction

The gaseous layer which has been surrounded throughout the earth has been known as the atmosphere. The atmosphere is the layers of the gaseous content that helps to envelop the outside of the planet. In the present study, the main focal point is the gaseous layer that has surrounded the surface of the earth. Various types of gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, helium and other gases have been surrounded as a layer of projection. The atmosphere has the main function to protect the watch and its organism from the rays of the sun and much other solar radiation.

Discussion on Atmosphere

The atmosphere is the substance of gas that is situated layer by layer around the source of the earth. The layers of gases work as the envelope of the platelet earth that helps to protect the earth from many substances of the solar system. The atmosphere and its various layers are surrounded by the gravitational power of the earth. It is a concept that around 5 billion years ago the earth was separated as a planet. Around 4.5 billion years ago there was no atmospheric surface around the surface of the earth. There is only a cover of molten lava, rock and solid substances around the whole surface of the earth.

A long time, the earth has been covered with carbon dioxide. After some time the earth cools down. Around half a billion years ago, the temperature of the pate began to cool down and solidified the atmosphere with a rich level of oxygen. Various gases like carbon dioxide, oxygen, helium, argon, Krypton and many other gases have been present in the layers of atmosphere substances of the earth. This gas helps to build the atmosphere and also helps to make various layers of the atmosphere.

Layers of  Atmosphere and their characteristic feature

Various layers are formed from various substances and have various traits which help them to protect the earth. The layers of the atmosphere can be discussed as the Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, Ionosphere and Exosphere. The various characteristic features of the layers are discussed as follows:

Troposphere: It is considered as the ground level of the surface of the atmosphere which is on the lowest level and the surface of the earth. The troposphere consists of the greatest mass of the total mass of the atmospheric layer. It covers 70-80% of the mass of the atmosphere which is held on the surface of the earth. Clouds are the main base of this particular layer and gaseous components are the major aspect of this part.  All types of weather changing phenomena are major characteristics of this part of the atmosphere.

Stratosphere: This layer is the upper layer of the troposphere that is about 31 miles or 50 Km from the surface of the earth. The ozone layer is the main aspect of this particular layer which helps to protect the living organism from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Ultraviolet ray consumption through the skin can be the major cause of skin cancer disease and many other skin problems. The ozone layer has taken the main responsibility to protect the organisms from the harmful rays of UV.

Mesosphere: It is an important layer of the atmosphere that is situated above the stratosphere and below the thermosphere. It has an expansion of 31-53 miles or 50-85 km from the surface of the earth. The main characteristic of the mesosphere is in the layer the temperature can be decreased with the increase of the height.

Thermosphere:  This layer is considered the second heist layer of the surface of the atmosphere of the earth. The various components including atomic nitrogen, atomic oxygen, helium, consist of the layer thermosphere. This layer can have absorbed a proper amount of x rays and Uv rays that come from the sun on the surface of the earth.

Ionosphere: This layer of atmosphere is 50 -400 miles above the surface of the earth and the next layer of the thermosphere. This layer ionosphere creates the boundary between the lower atmosphere and the vacuum of space. The main function of this layer is to convert the radio waves for navigation and communication.

Exosphere: This layer is considered the upper or topmost layer of the atmosphere and has no upper boundaries. Eventually, it has faded away into the vacuum of space and no other layer has existed around it.

Importance of Atmosphere

The atmosphere is the part that covers up the earth from the harmful rays of the sun. It protects the living organism from various substances of the space as well as various harmful sun rays and heat.

The Stratosphere protects organisms from the UV rays of the sun, and the ionosphere converts the radio signals for communication purposes.

Conclusion

The study is about the various layers of the atmosphere and their application on the earth. The various concepts of the atmosphere are clearly understood with the help of the present study. The various layers of the atmosphere and its characteristics have been briefly discussed in the study. The importance of the atmosphere on the earth has been discussed here in the present study.  The various aspects of the atmospheric substances have been discussed herein in the  study.
