CARA Recruitment 2022
CARA stands for Central Adoption Resource Authority; it is an Indian organisation that falls under the Ministry of Women and Child Development under the Government of India. This organisation was set up in the year 2015 to deal with inter and intra continental adoptions. It is the sole authority that regularises adoption policies and regulations in India. India has seen multiple adoption laws but primarily it goes by The Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act of 1956. Under this act, the Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists all culminated under similar adoption laws. However, for the other communities within India the law of Guardians and Wards are applicable which was issued under British India in the year 1890. However, this act only allows guardianship and has no provisions for legal adoption.
