Goa is the smallest state in the country. It is on the southwest coast of India, located on the western ghats. On May 30th, 1987, Goa declared an independent state of India. Panaji is its capital city. Pramod Sawant is the current chief minister of the state.

  • The first medical school in India was established in Goa. It was built by the Portuguese during their time of rule.

  • The kadambas ruled Goa for many years. During their time, Goa was a state of prosperity. It was a golden era for the people of that state. During their reign, several temples were established.
  • The country’s first printing press was established in Goa. The Portuguese, upon their arrival, brought all the machines and equipment with them.
  • Goa has the largest floating casino in the country. The Big Daddy Casino spans over 50,000 sq. ft and has about 100 tables.
