Famous places in Mizoram

  •  Aizawl -It is the capital of Mizoram and has a lot of places to visit. The Mizoram State Museum is in Aizawl and offers detailed information about the culture, tradition, and history of Mizoram. TheDurtlang Hills attract tourists as it offers a panoramic view of Aizawl city. The Hmuifang Mountain is known for its virgin forest 50km away from the main city. Solomon’s Temple in Kidron valley is also a famous tourist attraction. 
  •  Lunglei- Located in South-central Mizoram, Lunglei is one of the best places in Mizoram to relax and unwind. It is named after a bridge made of stones. Khawzawl Park and Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary are some of the notable tourist spots to visit.
  •  Mamit- It is known for the Dampa Tiger Reserve, where you can see a variety of bird species, including emerald doves, scarlet minivet, and the great hornbill. The park is also home to animals such as sloth bears, hoolock gibbons, and Indian leopards. 
  •  Champhai- Often regarded as the adventure hub of Mizoram, Champai is situated at the height of 1678 metres. The Murlen National Park here has a wide variety of flora and fauna. Mura Puk, which is 10 km away from Champhai, has 6 caves used as hiding places for the local people. The Rih Dil lake here is a km long and 70 metres wide. 
  • Kolasib- It is the only place in Mizoram situated near the famous Lake and river of Mizoram, Tamdil Lake and the Tlawng river. It is one of the best places in Mizoram to relax and unwind while enjoying nature while away from city life.
  • Vantawng Waterfalls- The waterfalls are as tall as 99.6 metres and are near the Serchhip District.
  • Phawngpui – This region is home to a variety of flora and fauna. You might also spot goral, serow, and barking deer here. Phawngpui is also an active habitat of falcons and sunbirds. The Phawngpui National Park, the Chhimtuipui River and Phawngpui mountain are places worth a visit. 
  • Hmuifang- It is a small hill station in Mizoram famous for its culture and cultural activities and dance festivals. Some exciting places here are Dumboor Lake, Reiek Tlang, and the famous Vantawng Falls.
  • Khawbung- It is a small sub-town in the Champhai district known for a few tourist attractions such as the Mizo Hlakungpui Mual monument and the Lianchhiari Tlang and Lianchhiari tui Thuhruk ( freshwater lakes), and Puanvawrh Puk, a natural cave.
