A short Note On Blood Clotting

Blood vessels are channels that flow blood throughout the body. Blood vessels consist of three layers where the artery delivers "oxygen-rich blood" to body tissues.

Clotted blood mainly happens when certain blood particles stick closer and the blood becomes thick which helps to stop the bleeding. The process of blood clots can be triggered by an injury as sometimes blood vessels are affected by the injury resulting in bleeding. Different stages are seen in the process of clotted blood such as vessel of blood constriction, formation of a plug of platelet, and coagulation cascade process activation. These three different stages lead to stopping the bleeding process with the sticking process of blood platelets, which is a significant type of blood cell. Proteins that are present in plasma are also very effective for clotted blood.

Reason for clotted blood

The reaction of the body after an injury by cutting or other cases causes bleeding that is very normal.

  • The formation of blood clots is mainly formed due to the sticking formation of blood platelets as well as fibrin, which prevent bleeding.
  • The clotted blood helps to repair the blood vessels of veins or arteries damage and normalization of blood circulation.
  • In contrast, clotted blood with the human body parts like veins or arteries can create a great problem as it causes a barrier in the flow of blood. Clotted blood within veins or arteries results in serious problems like excessive blood pressure and symptoms of a stroke.
  • Another reason for clot formation in the blood is the thickness of the blood with the formation of multiple proteins and platelets.

Different clotting factors of blood

Factors

Applications

Fibrinogen

This protein factor produced in the liver helps to thicken the blood vessels that guide clotted blood formation by extracting fibrin and other plasma proteins.

Prothrombin

It is another type of liver protein that produces vitamin K, which helps blood clotting. Thrombin catalyzes along with serine protease of this proteins to stick together with the blood vessels for the blood clotting.

Tissue thromboplastin

Thromboplastin of tissue is another cause of blood clotting that aids blood coagulation with the help of the transformation of prothrombin to thrombin. Another clotting factor of blood is the catalyzation of different plasma proteins.

Ionized calcium

This particle plays a significant factor in blood clotting with the help of different blood proteins. Ionized calcium is attached to plasma and blood proteins that assist in blood clotting.

Proaccelerin

A protein-made blood particle helps in blood clotting by converting prothrombin to thrombin.

Effect of a clot of blood

Blood clotting in outer body parts is good and at the same time, blood clotting within the body parts creates a great difficulty that also causes death.

  • Clotted blood with the human body parts like heart veins or arteries can be a significant cause of heart blockage or heart attack.
  • Blood clotting in the blood vessels of the abdominal part of the human body results in severe pain as well as increased vomiting tendency.
  • Clotted blood creates the tendency for high blood pressure as well as a high level of cholesterol.
  • Blood clotting has a significant effect on the human body. Excessive blood clotting with the veins or arteries results in changing the colour of skin, tenderness of tissues, pains, and swelling in the leg.
  • It also affects the respiratory system of the human body such as blood-clotting shortness of breath is generally seen along with rapid breathing.
  • Chest pain, increase heart rate, fainting as well as coughing are some effects of blood clotting.

Conclusion

The tendency of blood clotting can create a great issue in the treatment of cancers as well as chemotherapy. Apart from that, it can affect the treatment process of different body infections, various veins, and vein thrombosis treatment as well. In the female body parts, the tendency of blood clotting has a significant impact during the pregnancy period or in using some oral contraceptives. Obesity is another result of blood clotting and other illnesses like a shortage of energy or rapid breathing. During hormone therapy, the tendency of blood clotting also creates some significant problems as it affects the plasma or other blood particles formation.
