About the Examination

MPPSC exam is conducted by Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. These exams are conducted annually for induction to various posts in the State Govt. departments. The examination is conducted in three stages-

  • Prelims examination 
  • Mains examination
  • Interview

Candidates must clear the prelims and mains to be eligible for the interview round. This article will provide information about the various exams conducted by MPPSC, the eligibility criteria, and other information. 

 

List of Exams Conducted By MPPSC

MPPSC conducts the following exams

  • Assistant Fisheries Development Officer Exam
  • Assistant Geologist Exam Assistant (Farmer Welfare and Development Department) Exam
  • Assistant Horticulture Officer Exam
  • Assistant Officer (Social Justice Department) Exam
  • Scientific Officer Exam
  • State Engineering Service Exam
  • State Forest Service Exam
  • State Service Exam
  • Sub-Inspector Exam

MPPSC Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for MPPSC Exam are mentioned below.

  • The candidate should be an Indian citizen
  • Female candidate who has married an already married man whose wife is alive will not be eligible to take the exam
  • A male candidate having more than one wife who is alive will not be eligible to sit for the exam
  • Candidates declared guilty of crimes against women will not be eligible for the examination. In case the verdict is due, the candidate may take the exam. If successful, the posting will be held until the court gives the final verdict and pronounces them not guilty
  • Candidates claiming reservation/ age relaxation in more than one category will be allowed only one concession (whichever is more beneficial for them).

MPPSC Age Limit

The age limit for MPPSC Exam is given below:

For Non-Uniformed Posts:

  • The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years
  • The maximum age of the candidate should not exceed 40 years

For Uniformed Posts:

  • The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years
  • The maximum age of the candidate should not exceed 33 years

Upper Age Limit Relaxations

The upper age limit relaxations are provided to reserved category candidates. The relaxation for the upper age limit is mentioned below

  • All women candidates, irrespective of their domicile, are provided 5 years of age relaxation
  • Physically Handicapped – 5 years of age relaxation
  • SC (Scheduled Caste) Domiciles of MP – 5 years of age relaxation
  • ST (Scheduled Tribe) Domiciles of MP – 5 years of age relaxation
  • OBC (Other Backward Classes) Domiciles of MP – 5 years of age relaxation
  • Burma, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka’s bonafide repatriate of Indian origin holding Indian Passport – 3 years of age relaxation
  • Defence Services Personnel – 3 years of age relaxation
  • Divorcee, Widow, or abandoned at the time of her first appointment – 3 years of age relaxation
  • Vikram Award- honored sportsmen, as per MPPSC General AD Memo – 5 years of age relaxation.
  • Green card holders from Family Welfare Programme – 2 years of age relaxation

MPPSC Qualification

The educational qualification for the MPPSC Exam is mentioned below:

  • The candidate must be a Graduate of a recognized University or possess an equivalent qualification
  • Candidates having technical and professional qualifications which the government recognizes as equivalent to a technical or professional degree too are eligible

Physical Eligibility for the MPPSC Exam

The physical eligibility requirement is mentioned below. This requirement is optional for all posts. It is required for certain posts where the candidates have to undergo a medical test after clearing the interview to become eligible for posting.
