Special authority is known as the World Meteorological Organization. This belongs to the United Nations. It maintains the state’s voice and this is called a UN method’s agency. In the year 1873 IMO became and IMO means international Meteorological organisation. After the IMO agency 77 years later the World meteorological organisation was established in the year 1950. Climate and weather both are the meaning of meteorology. 

About WMO

The total membership of the World Meteorological Organisation has been established with one hundred ninety-one states along with Territories. In 2013 on the month of 1st January, a member of the World Meteorological organisation was placed. The World meteorological organisation has been set up to operate hydrology and manage climate and weather. Besides, Geophysical sciences can be maintained through the WMO. The information and data are free and exchangeable through WMO. WMO can make it easy through its services and products. This can help society with privacy and indemnity. Moreover, the atmosphere and the financial welfare can be protected through the World Meteorological Organization. At domestic and international stages in order to manufacture, WMO can participate in those places.

 In 2020, the 70th Anniversary is celebrated through WMO.  The root of IMO has been started from the city of Vienna which is situated in Switzerland. The highest part of WMO has the World meteorological congress. WMO’s general secretary headed it and their decisions have been implemented through the executive cabinet. The responsible person has six that are known as regional organisations. 

Places of help

Corporations can be promoted through the World Meteorological Organisation in order to set up a network. WMO can help to build meteorological as well as climate and geophysical knowledge. In order to human environment services, collaboration can be fostered through it. Besides that, water problems, the atmosphere, and trading can help through it.

WMO reports

A yearly report has been published through WMO. The report is based on the condition of the Earth’s climate. At the international and national stages, information and data on heat can be provided through the report of the world meteorological organisation. Moreover, ultimate environmental events can be provided through this report.

Climate changes in a big term are provided through the WMO report of WMO. The increase in sea level has been included through this indicator. Moreover, sea ice increase can be noticed through WMO publications. Besides, in the environment the intentness of greenhouse gas has been maintained through WMO publications.

Functions of WMO

There have been many functions in WMO that have been followed such as

  • In the countries, there are services and activities. The activities are with national meteorological and services are with hydrology. A vital role has been played through these activities because weather and climate have been provided through them. In order to serve the population water services are provided through them.
  • The statistics are provided through them because statistics is a part of meteorology. Moreover, observation has taken the role of hydrology that has been provided through the World Meteorological Organisation. Management of water and agriculture are the different aspects that implement this knowledge.
  • R&D plays a vital role in Hydrology and Meteorology that has been encouraged through the World Meteorological Organization. The influence of weather can be decreased in various ways and this can be helpful. In order to prevent climate hazards, it can be beneficial through WMO. Consistency can be maintained to achieve this. Moreover, reliable forecasts can be maintained through this because for storms, reliable forecasts are beneficial and cyclones, tornadoes are the storm.
  • The locust swarms can be predicted through the World Meteorological Organisation. Moreover, for the WMO, there is a great responsibility to transport many pollutants. Volcanic ash is known as pollutants and toxic nuclear elements are also pollutants. In order for people’s health to be hazardous, there are pollutants. Moreover, the health hazards have been eliminated, whether WMO’s transport can be found quickly,

Current findings of WMO

In the year 2018, a record has been hit in the environment through greenhouse gases, the WMO has mentioned in a report. In the year 2017, the rate of carbon dioxide has been found to be 405.5 ppm and in the year 2018, it has increased to 407.8 ppm. The increment is 2.3 ppm. In the year 2005 to 2015 yearly development rate was 2.06 ppm.

The concentration of atmospheric pressure has been measured through the world meteorological organisation’s gas greenhouse. In the year 1990, the increment was 43 percent, WMO mentioned in a report. In order to stop greenhouse gases, the climate has been affected through warming.

A specialised agency has been found in the World Meteorological Organisation that belongs to the United Nations. People can be affected through climate change where WMO can help the people to manage climatic changes and can save many lives.
