Candidates who qualify IIT JAM 2023 have to meet the following Eligibility Requirements for admission to the IITs-
- Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree
- Candidates have to pass the qualifying degree examination. If a candidate is promoted without a mark sheet, the promotion certificate or a document accompanying the promotion certificate – signed by the Head of the Institute – must name the subjects studied in that semester or year to determine the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) criteria for admission to a certain program
- Foreign citizens holding Indian degrees are eligible to apply, as per the admission rules of the admitting institute
- Candidates must note that if CGPA/CPI is not on a 10-point scale, it will be linearly mapped to one
- Proof of completion of the Qualifying Degree as well as the MEQs as required by the Admitting Institute must be presented before September 30, 2023
- The Admitting Institute will determine the equivalence in percentage of marks for candidates having letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks)
All admitted applicants must provide a Physical Fitness certificate from a qualified medical practitioner in the prescribed form at the time of admission. At the time of admission, admitted applicants may be required to undergo a Physical Fitness test conducted by a medical board appointed by the Admitting Institute. If candidates are found physically unfit to pursue their chosen course of study, their admission may be cancelled.
