Objective

• to protect fundamental rights, democracy, while fostering innovation in high-risk AI applications.
• to make sure that AI systems used in the EU are safe, transparent, traceable, non-discriminatory and environmentally friendly.

Prohibition

• It prohibits the use of real-time remote biometric identification in publicly accessible spaces, except for limited exceptions.

Categories of AI systems risk level

• Unacceptable risk (Prohibition).
• High-risk (Requires conformity assessment and monitoring).
• Specific Transparency risk (Require information and transparency obligations).
• Minimal risk (No specific regulations).
