Chemistry in everyday life

Ans: Chemistry is a major part of our everyday life. Chemistry can be observed in our daily life from the foods we eat, the air we breathe, cleaning chemicals, our emotions and each and every object we can see or touch. Some common chemistry may be obvious, but others might surprise us. Our body contains chemical compounds, which are combinations of elements. 

Ans: A pressure cooker has a lid that seals the pot completely. Due to which, when we heat water it boils and the steam cannot escape, so it remains inside and starts to build up the pressure. Under pressure, cooking temperatures rise much higher than normal, hence the food is cooked much faster. This shows us the role of chemistry in our daily life.

Ans: Soaps are surfactants which means they have the ability to dissolve in water and oils. When we talk about the process of making soap it involves fats and oils that react with a strong hydroxide base and form glycerine and salts of fatty acids. This is the chemistry seen behind the soap.
