A national-level management entrance examination program for admission is known as the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). This exam facilitates the selection of suitable graduates for admittance to management programs at participating institutions affiliated with the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
What is CMAT?
The National Test Agency administers the Common Management Admission Test. Until 2018, the National Council for Technical Education in India (AICTE) administered the CMAT admission test. The NTA( National Testing Agency) now administers the CMAT test as of 2019. The full name of for the CMAT is Common Management Admission Test. Over 140 cities across India host CMAT events. Every year, over 75,000 students take the CMAT test.
all AICTE-certified or associated universities accept CMAT scores. CMAT results determine admission to more than 1000 institutions in India. This is simpler than admission examinations like the CAT, XAT, and others.
Criteria for CMAT Eligibility
Candidates taking the CMAT must meet certain fundamental prerequisites. So, before applying for the exam, be sure to check the following conditions:
- CMAT is open to any Indian resident with a bachelor’s degree. They must have completed a three-year degree program in any subject.
- Students in their last year of their Bachelor’s Degree are also eligible, but only if their results are due before the beginning of the academic year.
Some MBA/PGDM programs or B-schools may have different qualifying conditions.
The CMAT Registration Procedure
- Aspirants should follow the steps below to register for the CMAT: Aspirants must provide legitimate email addresses and phone numbers when registering for the CMAT test.
- At the time of registration, aspirants must supply their personal information, educational qualifications, phone number, and any other personal information asked.
- Candidates must post their most current photo and signature.
- Once the aspirants have provided the relevant information, they must pay for the application form.
CMAT Exam Pattern
- The question paper will only be available in English.
- Each question is worth 04 (four) points.
- Four points will be awarded to the contestant for each accurate response.
- The final score will be reduced by one mark for each incorrect response.
- To respond to a question, Candidates must choose just one option that reflects making the right decision displayed on the screen.
- However, if more than one choice is confirmed to the point following the key challenge procedure, a wide range of possible options will be granted four marks ( 4).
- Any incorrectly marked choice will obtain a score of (-1).
- No credit will be given for questions that are not answered or tried.
- If a question is dropped/ignored, all candidates will receive four points ( 4) regardless of whether the question was attempted or not by the candidate.
