Explain the difference between the work done by the system and on the system.

Ans :When the system goes through a contraction or there is an increase in internal energy due to the external elements in the surroundings, the work is done. Similarly, when the system goes through an expansion or a decrease in the internal energy due to force applied to the surrounding, the system does the work.
