What were the pillars of British administration in India?

Ans. Initially, there were three main pillars of British administration. These were:

1. Civil Services
2. Police, and
3. The army.

A fourth pillar was later added to this list, the judiciary. Through these four means, the British managed the protection of their own interests and control over the people of the country.
