In this lesson one will learn all the vital concepts under vapor compression cycle. He starts this lesson by explaining the four components of vapour compression cycle, which are, isentropic compression, constant pressure heat rejection, throttling and constant pressure heat absorption. Each of these components of vapour cycle is explained with the help of T-S and P-H diagrams. Also, derivations of important equations pertaining to it are elucidated.

sir the block diagram is wrong as being power consuming cycle arrows should be running in anticlockwise direction but u have shown them in clockwise direction
Sir why there is dotted line in throttling process in T-s and P-h diagrams.It could be like other processes.
Avinash, since throttling is a irreversible process and irreversible processes are represented by dotted lines ,hence it is shown by dotted lines in both T-S and P-h diagram

Sir, you said there is no heat and work transfer during throttling process..Then how the temp of refrigerent is reduced to by a significant value..Pls explain...

The throttling process is in WET region. That is why enthalpy is constant but temperature is not constant. In wet region we can't consider it as an ideal gas.

Hi Dinesh, It is the expansion valve "where the magic happens". Harshit went into so much technical details that he missed out explaining the very basic physics. Why the Magic Happens? --> Refrigerants have the property of drastic temperature reduction when pressure drops. Hope it helps. Dear Harshit. Good efforts. Please do not take this comment negatively.
