  4. Award for best investigators of crime The Union government has decided to institute an award 'Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Police Investigation' for carrying out the best investigation of crime for promoting high professional standards among police forces. It will be given (15th August every year) to the best investigators of police forces of States, Union Territories, and central investigating agencies. 137 will be for the states and Union territories and 25 for the central investigating agencies like National Investigation Agency (NIA), CB and Narcotics Control Bureau.

SBl slashes minimum balance charges State Bank of India has cut down the charges for non- maintenance of average minimum balance in its April. savings accounts by up to 75%, into effect from 1st of Now, the customers in metro and urban centers will have to pay Rs 15 per month plus GST (Earlier Rs 50 per month plus GST) For semi-urban centers, the charges have been reduced from Rs 40 to Rs 12 per month plus GST.

TB Campaign P.M.Narendra Modi has launched the TB-free India Campaign to take the activities under the National Strategic Plan for TB Elimination. >A target has been set to end TB globally by 2030 and Government of India has set an aim to eradicate it from India five years ahead by 2025 >The summit will set the stage for United Nations High-Level Meeting on TB in September this year.


  7. Schemes for the poor launched Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched number of schemes for the poor in Varanasi and emphasized on harnessing solar energy for cooking. He inaugurated a 101-megawatt solar power plant in Mirzapur along with French President Emmanuel Macron. He also flagged off a new train - Kanshi-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express between Varanasi and Patna. He also announced Ayushman Bharat scheme to ensure better healthcare facilities for the poor. He also launched Pradhan Mantri Poshan Mission Yojana to ensure nutrition to children, especially girls.

Anti-defection bill approved The Maldives Parliament has approved the anti- defection bill with retrospective effect amidst boycott by opposition MPs The bill would take effect from 13th July 2017. Supreme court in its 1st of last month's judgment had restored the seats of 12 MPS who had defected to opposition thus putting the government in the effective minority.

India and France Ink Pacts India and France have inked 14 pacts in key areas of defense, security, nuclear energy and protection of classified information besides resolving to deepen cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and step up joint efforts to contain terrorism. The agreements were signed by Prime Minister NarendraModi and French President Emmanuel Macron, including on the changing security dynamics in the Indian Ocean and Pacific.

Online overdraft facility for MSME customers The ICICI Bank has launched instant overdraft InstaOD facility for MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) customers ina completely online manner. Now, Customers can get overdraft facility up to Rs. 15 lakhs for a year anytime anywhere using the Internet/mobile banking. It will enable online loan processing, instant disbursement with no collateral requirement, prepayment or foreclosure charges. An overdraft allows the individual to continue withdrawing money even if the account has no funds in it or not enough to cover the withdrawal.
