Ptotal = 600 torr  PA = P x XA. . . . . .(i) (P = total pressure)  XA = mole fraction of A in vapour pressure  YA = mole fraction of A in liquid solution PA = P0A x YA …..(ii)  PA = vapour pressure of pure A  from Eq. (1) and (2)  P0A x YA = Ptotal x XA  P0A x 0.70 = 600 x 0.35  P0A = 600 x (0.35/0.70) = (600/2) = 300 torr
