Introduction to Planning

Lesson talks about first phase of Five Year Plans from 1951-66. Three FYPs have been discussed along with their positives and negatives . An analysis has been done in the end as to what exactly went wrong and how could it have been rectified or avoided in first place.

Five Year Plans: Part 1

Lesson deals with second phase of Five Year Plans (1966-90).
Discusses Green Revolution on detail. Focusses upon the shift towards welfare policies and anti poverty programs. Also discusses the difference between Annual Plans and Rolling Plans.

Five Year Plans: Part 2

Lesson deals with the end of Second Phase of Five Year Plans and start of Third Phase. Discusses LPG reforms and mentions terms like Hindu Rate of Growth. Analyses whether LPG reforms  were a conscious decision or happened due to WB and IMF.

Five Year Plans: Part 3

This lesson deals with remaining FYPs. It starts from 8th FYP and moves towards 12 the FYP. Discusses the 2008 financial crises and its impact. Also looks into the role of RBI in preventing that crises. Ends with 12th FYP and the 25 targets that are set.to be achieved under it.

This lesson deals with the role of Planning Commission and its successor NITI Aayog. Dwells into the often asked question as to how exactly are they different . Looks into the relevance of Planning and how it impacts the economy .
