This is the first introductory lesson of the course Laplace transform where we will understand about the strategy to learn the concept Laplace transform. We will understand why do we need to study Laplace transform. We will also understand the concept of complex frequency.

Introduction to Laplace Transform

In this lesson we will understand about mathematical expressions for the Laplace and Inverse Laplace transform. We will do analysis on the complex frequency plane. We will also understand about the condition for existence of a Laplace Transform.

Definition of Laplace Transform

In this lesson we will understand about the concept of Region Of Convergence. We will identify the region of convergence for the right sided causal signal. We will understand for the right sided causal signal ROC will be towards Right hand side of abscissa of convergence.

Part 1: Concept of ROC in Laplace Transform

In this lesson we will understand about the concept of Region Of Convergence. We will identify the region of convergence for the left sided causal signal. We will also understand for the left sided causal signal ROC will be towards left hand side of abscissa of convergence.

Part 2 : Concept of ROC in Laplace Transform

In this lesson we will understand about the concept of Region Of Convergence. We will identify the region of convergence for the two sided signal. We will understand for the two sided signal ROC will be in between of the two abscissa of convergence.

Part 3 : Concept of ROC in Laplace Transform

In this lesson we revised the concept about the Laplace transform of Standard signal in a tabular chart. We have also understood about their Region of Convergence. This chart will help us to revise the concept in less time before the examination.

In this lesson we will continue to solve the problem on Laplace Transform of Standard Signal, where we will solve the problem on waveform. We will see how to write the mathematical equations for the waveform and then apply the Laplace definition to find the Laplace transform of the signal.
