Overview: Molecular Basis of Inheritance

The lesson describes about components of DNA structure , history about DNA and also salient features of DNA structure. This lesson also briefly describes Central Dogma of Molecular Biology.

The DNA

The lesson describes about how such a large size DNA get packed into the small nucleus with the help of histone proteins. The experiment of "Transforming principle " by Frederick Griffith and also biochemical characterisation of Transforming principle.

Lesson describes about Hershey and Chase experiment about proving DNA as genetic material . It also explains about properties of genetic material  (DNA and RNA).

Properties of Genetic Material (DNA and RNA)

The lesson describes about meaning of replication. How scientists proved the semi conservative mode of DNA replication. It also explains the process of DNA replication and important enzymes involved in this process. We also discussed about introduction to the process of transcription.

Replication of DNA
