Overview

Slide 1: Introduction to control systems: part 1 (lesson 1) by Samradni Gomkar. 

Slide 2: Books: Nagrath and Gopal, Control systems Engineering is an exceptional book and would be referred for this course. Katsuhiko Ogata, another famous foreign author also has explained CS beautifully in his book titled ‘Modern Control engineering’.

System: interconnection of elements for specified reason.

Closed loop has two types: positive feedback and negative feedback. An example of fan is discussed.

Closed Loop TF and Characteristic Equation

Introduction to Control Systems: Part 4 (lesson 4)

This lesson consists of one numerical example for a closed loop control system with unity feedback. Finding out the transfer function for the same is the goal and then analysis of the output signal in time domain is done to get down to the conclusion that a feedback type or closed loop control system gives a faster response than an open loop transfer function.

Numerical Example for TF and Its Feedback Analysis

In this lesson, emphasis is given upon the sensitivity of the closed loop transfer function. Some assumptions for defining a control system that is an LTI system has been discussed.

Sensitivity to parameter variations

This lesson dicusses all the 6 golden rules for reduction of block diagram. It ends with a numerical question for the learners to solve and clear the concept.
