About the course (in Hindi)

This lesson explores the meaning, purpose, and importance of prosody and rhetoric with the help of definitions and examples.

What is Prosody, and Rhetoric? (in Hindi)

This lesson discusses about what is meter?, what is syllable?, and types of syllable.

Meter 1 (in Hindi)

This lesson talks about "foot" as a metric unit, and types of meter such as "quantitative," "syllabic," "accentual," and "accentual-syllabic."

Meter 2 (in Hindi)

This lesson discusses about rhythm, and major factors such as ("word accent," "gramatical function &  rhetorical accent," and prevailing "metric accent")  determine where the stress will fall in a line of verse.

Meter 3 (in Hindi)

This lesson explains various kinds of feet in English such as Trochaic, Iambic, Dactylic, Anapestic, Spondaic, and Pyrric etc. with the help of a poem called "Metrical Feet" by Coleridge and some other formulas.

Meter 4 (Various feet in English)

This lesson discusses various feet in English meter with some examples, and also classifies these meter such as falling meter, and raising meter. It also focus on the process of naming english meters.

Meter 5 (in Hindi)

This lesson illustrates the process of "scansion," feminine ending, masculine ending, end-stoped, run-on lines(enjambment), caesura, intonation, phrasal rhythms, and performace with examples.

This lesson discusses about alliterative meter, sprung rhythm, free verse, and blank verse.

Meter 7 (in Hindi)

This lesson discusses about what is stanza? It also illustrates regular stanza and irregular stanza with examples from different poems.

Stanza 1 (in Hindi)

This lesson discusses various kind of stanzas such as couplet ( octo-syllabic, decasyllabic (heroic), and closed), tercet or triplet (terza rima), quatrain (ballad stanza, common measure, heroic quatrain) etc. with the help of examples.

This lesson discusses about rime royal, ottava rima, spenserian stanza, and villanelle with help of examples.
