Two Wattmeter Method (Part 1) (in Hindi)

In this lecture I have discussed two wattmeter method when the load is balanced Delta connected. And I have derived the readings of both wattmeters with the help of phasor diagram and after that we at the readings of both wattmeter to get the reading of active power in a three phase system.

In this lecture I have discussed the concept of shading ring an error in the energy meter. In shading ring I have discussed that shading ring provides additional lagging flux which when added to the potential coil flux then the angle between resultant flux and potential coil voltage will be 90 degree so that shading ring make the angle of delta equal to 90 degree by providing lagging flux in the energy meter. And in error in the energy meter we discuss the formulae of energy constant (K), Measured energy(Em), true energy(Et) and percentage in the energy metre

Shading Ring & Error in the Energy Meter

In this lesson I have discussed friction compensation and creeping error. Generally fractional error is introduced at very light load condition in the energy meter. To remove fractional error we use some technique that is called friction compensation of energy meter. We use shading ring to remove frictional error by increasing the value of driving torque. And creeping error is introduced due to over compensation of friction error. There is two method to remove creeping error. One is fix the iron piece at the edge of aluminium disc and another is drill holes
 at diametrically opposite of AL disc.

In this lecture I have discussed the concept of Phantom loading Arrangement in energy meter. We use Phantom loading for calibration of energy meter because we never calibrate the energy meter at full load because at full load we waste a lot of energy in calibration. And we also saw the difference between Phantom loading and direct loading. And at the end we discuss Summary of this course.
