A carboxylic acid is an organic compound that contains a carboxyl group(C(=O)OH).The general formula of a carboxylic acid is R–COOH, with R referring to the rest of the molecule.

2.0 Introduction To Carboxylic Acids (in Hindi)

Carboxylic Acids can be prepared from Alkenes , Alkynes and some Benzene derivatives of Hydrocarbons when they are oxidised using aqueous kmno4 in alkaline medium followed by acidification.

3.1 Preparation Of Carboxylic Acids : From Hydrocarbons (in Hindi)

The hydrolysis of nitriles, which are organic molecules containing a cyano group, leads to carboxylic acid formation. These hydrolysis reactions can take place in either acidic or basic solutions.
