In this course we will be studying about All the three courts of India: Supreme court which is the top most court of the country, high out and then the lower courts. We will be discussing about the procedure and actions taken by them and other important facts.

Indian Judiciary - An Introduction (in Hindi)

Supreme Court of India is the highest court of the country. Supreme court was established in Jan 28, 1950. It consists of 31 judges( 1 CJI+ 30 Judges). Supreme court is headed by Chief justice of India. Initially there were eight judges including CJI.

Supreme Court of India (in Hindi)

Judges of the Supreme court of India are appointed by President. Chief Justice of India is appointed by President on consultation with other judges of Supreme Court. There is no minimum age prescribed to be the judge of Supreme Court. The judges retire at the age of 65. 

The salary and allowances of judges and CJI are determined by Parliament from time to time. The oath of Judges and CJI are administered by President or by another member as appointed by him.
