Course Overview

Introduction of the multi degree of freedom system has been discussed. The equation of motion for the two DoF system has been developed. Then the concept of decoupling has been introduced using linear transformation.

Disscussed the solution of two degree of freedom system using normal mode analysis. Introduction of modal domain is also done and the advantage of that is also seen here.

Talks about the general formulation of two degree of freedom system. The concept of static and dynamic coupling has been discussed in a more detail here.

Coupled Coordinate System

Discussed the formulation of system under forcing function. The solution of the governing differential equation has been discussed then. At the end the concept of orthogonality of modes has been discussed.
