Principle of Operation of Chopper and it's Control Strategies

First quadrant or type - A chopper is explained with it's circuit digram and waveforms.

First Quadrant Chopper (Type -A)

Second quadrant or type - B chopper is explained with circuit diagrams, intermediate equivalent circuit diagrams and waveforms.

Second Quadrant Chopper (Type - B)

Type C or Two Quadrant chopper is explained with the help of a main circuit diagram and individual circuit diagrams depicting each stage. Waveforms have also been explained.

Two - Quadrant Type - A chopper (Type - C)

Type - D or Two Quadrant Type - B chopper is explained with the help of a circuit diagram and the waveforms for output voltage and current.
