Overview

When an external load acts on wires of same initial length, they will suffer elongation. If elongation is different, then the rigid bar which they hold will not be horizontal. It will simply get tilted.

When bars of different lengths are acted by an external load, then they both will bear the load only when their differences in length or gap gets covered. Before that, the external load has to be totally held by the bar in contact.
