Centre of Mass is an important concept and is very useful for the next chapter of Rotational Mechanics.

This chapter forms an explanation for the Newton's Second Law of Motion and introduces us to the concept of Momentum.

I have tried to explain the process of locating the centre of mass and also an important class of problems involving a hypothesis of negative mass (don't worry there is no such thing called negative mass).

Locating the Centre of Mass

This course will help you to locate the centre of mass of a few commonly used geometries.

It also lays the basis for understanding these geometries and how do we use the formula of centre of mass.

Centre of Mass for Continuous Bodies

This session is in continuation with my previous session on COM of Continuous bodies.

It includes the derivation for locating the center of mass of Hollow Cone, Solid Cone and Hemispherical Shell.

Locating Centre of Mass for Different Geometries

This session explains the implications of the motion of Centre of Mass and questions based on it.

Newton's First Law of Motion and Momentum conservation are derived from this.
