This is the overview lesson ,in which objective ,target audience and contents are discussed,this course will benefit 11th class student's giving them a perfect understanding of all the concepts, UPSC aspirants having botany and zoology as their optionals must watch this course to get a base of the subject ,SSC cgl aspirants can also benefit from this as most of their syllabus of biology is covered in this. Course Overview

This lesson talks about the characteristics of living, diversity in the living world ,how organisms are named and on what guidelines they are named ,binomial nomenclature, taxonomy and taxonomical aids.

Diversity in the Living World

In this lesson ,classifications given by different biologists is discussed , under 5 Kingdom classification given by Whittaker ,the first 2 kingdoms viz. Monera and prostista are thoroughly dealt ,with all the basic information and concepts,along with diagrammatic representation.

Biological Classification: Part 1

In this lesson ,Kingdom fungi is dealt, the basic characteristics of fungi,advantages and disadvantages of it,their reproduction, and also classes of it  which are Phycomycetes,Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, Deuteromycetes are discussed focusing on their unique features.

Biological Classification: Part 2

In this lesson ,a brief overview and characteristic features of kingdoms Plantae and Animalia is discussed along with viruses,viroids and lichens ,and also the reason why these are not included under the 5 Kingdom classification.

Biological Classification: Part 3

This lesson talks about the Plant kingdom ,various classifications( artificial, natural,phylogenetic classifications) made by biologists to classify plants ,and on what basis they have done it,also a brief discussion about the various subdivisions of kingdom plantae ,an in-depth analysis of Division 1- Algae and it's classes - chlorophyceae,Pheophyceae,Rhodophyceae with respective examples are elaborately discussed.

Plant Kingdom: Part 1

In this lesson ,about the unique characteristics of division Bryophyta ,Pteridophyta,Gymnosperms,Angiosperms is discussed, along with their method of reproduction and life cycles  respectively, brief idea of Alternation of generations is dealt.

In this lesson,we will see about kingdom Animalia ,it's basis of classification ,what are the types of characteristics involved to classify animals and also about Phylum Porifera,Cnidaria ,their body organization,morphology, mode of digestion ,locomotion,reproduction with their respective examples

Animal Kingdom: Part 1

In this lesson ,Phylum Ctenophora,Platyhelminthes, Aschelminthes,Annelida are dealt in an elaborate manner ,explaining each  unique feature they have,their modified body parts like hooks ,sucker's, their properties of bioluminescence etc.

Animal Kingdom: Part 2

In this lesson we shall see about the largest phyla which are Arthropoda,Mollusca and other phyla viz. Echinodermata ,Hemichordata ,in which we will see about their body organization, locomotion,sensory organs, respiratory organs,reproduction,also other modified parts,and the characteristic features of phyum Chordata are dealt in detail.

Animal Kingdom: Part 3

This lesson talks about all the features of classes under Phylum Chordata viz. Cyclostomata,Chondrichthyes,Osteichthyes,Amphibia,Reptilia,Aves and Mammalia,unique features like   air bladder, cloaca,tymphanum,pneumatic  endoskeleton are explained in a lucid manner.
