The lesson talks about the basic outline of what is Bioprocess Engineering, what is the role of Bioprocess Engineers, how they work, what are the applications of Bioprocess Engineering, the interdisciplinary nature of Bioprocessing and some more details related to the subject.

Concepts of Bioprocess Engineering

In this lesson a case study has been discussed on which the production of ethanol is targeted. Starting from media preparation to end product purification is discussed with all the basic outlines.

Bioprocessing: Case Studies -1 Production of Ethanol

This lesson talks about the production of lactic acid, starting from the process diagram including the raw material, microorganisms, process of fermentation and the downstream processing.

Bioprocessing: Case Studies- 2 Production of Lactic Acid

In this lesson I have talked about the production of acetone and butanol. The process of fermentation including the raw materials required as well as the microbe involved in the process. The process diagram is shown to explain the process of fermentation as well as downstream processing of the acetone and butanol.
