An Introduction - Lesson 1

In this lesson we look into how China became the pioneer for introducing a system of Hand printing through Woodblocks.
We look at the art of Calligraphy.

Later, we see how there was a gradual shift to mechanical printing from hand printing due to the advent of Western Printing techniques and mechanical presses.

The First Printed books - Lesson 2

In this lesson we see how the Buddhist Missionaries from China introduced the Hand printing technology into Japan.

We look into the Buddhist Dimond Sutra in a detailed manner which was translated from Sanskrit to Chinese.

We also look into various publishing practices of the Rich and Elite in Japan.

Print in Japan - Lesson 3

In this lesson we discuss as to how with the Explorations of Marco Polo in China, Italy and Europe also witnessed the coming of Print technology.
We see there was a growing demand for Woodblock printing and it became more and more popular.
We also see the invention of a new print technology and the first known printing press by Gutenberg.
