An AC to DC Converter or commonly known as a Rectifier is a power electronic device that converts AC power to DC power. The configurations of the same are briefly classified into two - Half Wave and Full wave. Based on the control, it can be classified into two - Controlled and Uncontrolled. A Controlled Rectifier uses SCR, Power MOSFET, IGBTs, etc as switches and Uncontrolled Rectifier uses Diodes.
