Course Overview

In this lesson the meaning of open economy and the influence in aggregate demand due to the international trade have been discussed. One can learn about the degree of openness and international monetary system through this lesson.

Introduction to Open Economy

This lesson discusses about BoP. Here, the two important elements of BoP is discussed. The debit and credit transactions in BoP account are also been discussed here.

This lesson talks about the BoP deficit and surplus and also about the official reserve transactions. We will learn about the autonomous and the accommodating transactions. Also, the third element of BoP account is discussed in this lesson.

BoP Surplus and Deficit

This lesson is an introduction to the foreign exchange market. Here, the exchange rate is explained with a two way definition.

Foreign Exchange Market: An Introduction

In this lesson, the real exchange rate and the nominal exchange rate are explained. The PPP concept is also defined in here. The lesson also explains Nominal Effective Exchange Rate and Real Effective Exchange Rate.
