This lesson is in continuance with the schemes which are governed by the ministry of commerce and industry. As the lesson starts one will come across popularly known scheme which is Special Economic Zones which is more commonly known as the SEZ. He explains how SEZ is allowed to manufacture, trade and provide services apart from its primary functioning of export. He also highlights some of the other incentives of SEZ. Through this lesson, one can get an insight into the schemes which are launched under the Ministry of Agriculture. As the lesson instigates one will come across the departments which fall under the ministry of agriculture, where Ayussh explains how this ministry is divided into Department of agriculture, Cooperation and farmers welfare, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries and Department of Agricultural Research and Education. As the other schemes discussed in the other lessons of this course so far, here also, the government has done consolidation of many schemes into a single scheme. Schemes such as Krishonnati Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana are some major topics which are taken up in detail.

This lesson is in continuation with the previous lesson where Ayussh Sanghi is continuing his explanation on the schemes by the ministry of agriculture. Here, he has analysed a Krishonnati Yojana which acts as an umbrella to all the schemes of the government which pertain to crop husbandry along with micro irrigation. He has gone in depth and has briefed each of the scheme which falls under this yojana. Some major schemes among them discussed here are Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana and Nationa Food Security Mission.

Part II: Ministry Of Agriculture - Discussion of Newly Launched Schemes (for UPSC CSE/IAS Preparation)

In this lesson, Ayussh Sanghi discusses furthermore schemes of the ministry of agriculture. The foremost scheme which is highlighted in this lesson is National Crop Insurance Programme (NCIP). He explains how this scheme is modified from the three schemes, i.e. modified national agricultural insurance scheme (MNAIS), weather based crop insurance scheme, and coconut palm insurance scheme.  He then sheds light on the functioning component of NCIP i.e the modified national agricultural insurance scheme (MNAIS), here, he describes the major objectives of this schemes. Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS), which is also a component of National Crop Insurance Programme is discussed next. He then shifts his focus on explaining the Coconut Palm Insurance Scheme (CPIS). Lastly, he elucidates how MNAIS got replaced by Pradhan Mantri Fasl Bima Yojana in June 2016.

In the previous lesson, we briefly had come across how MNAIS got replaced by Pradhan Mantri Fasl Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in June 2016 and in this lesson Ayussh throws light entirely upon PMFBY. He highlights all the problems associated with the insurance schemes in India before PMFBY was implemented. Then he explains the timeline of Insurance Schemes in India. The crops which are insured under PMFBY is also discussed. Some of the unconventional ways of covering losses are also explained. As this lesson begins one will come across brief about National Mission on Oilseeds & Oil Palm. Then he has taken up National Mission on Agricultural Extension and Technology and has discussed its four sub- missions. Then he explains all the aims of this scheme.
