the outbreak of the war and British unilateral declaration that India is a party to war without any consultation with Indian leaders made the Congress disquiet. The Congress thereby demanded complete Independence .They  rejected CRIPPS MISSION .
 There was a political deadlock in the country since 1939  when the CONGRESS RESIGNED from the MINISTERIES.
 In The House Of Lords British Prime Minister "CR Atlee" announced the cabinet mission plan for the Peaceful transfer of power in India to set up an INTERIM GOVERNMENT
 Paving  the way to Indian Independence Act 1947 and the establishment of two independent DOMINIONS, India and Pakistan

It then covers the Indian National Movement starting from the Home Rule Leagues, Mont-Ford reforms, till Gandhi's satyagrahs, resistance against the Rowlatt Act and then the Non-Cooperation Movements. A discussion on growth of communalism with focus on Hinduism, and of revolutionary activity during the 1920's is also done.
