Course Overview

In this lecture, we look at the basic circuitry of half wave rectifier and the input and output waveforms of the voltages when passed through a half wave rectifier.

Half Wave Rectifier

In this video, I have discussed the ripple factor, the dc equivalent output voltage and the use of the smootgening capacitor. Various other parameters like efficiency and utilization factor for a half wave rectifier is also given.

Ripple Factor of a Half-Wave Rectifier

In this lecture, we go through the full wave rectifier - the two kinds of full wave rectifier namely the center tapped rectifier and the bridge rectifier, and we examine their circuitry to understand the process of rectification by them.

Full-Wave Rectifier

In this lecture, I have given the formulae and the values for different parameters of a full wave rectifier. The definitions are not repeated because they are the same as that in a half wave rectifier.
