Course Overview

This lesson deals with the introduction of the atmosphere, different phases of it's origin, it's components like gases, water vapor, solid particles and chemical composition.

Origin and Composition of the Atmosphere

This lesson deals with different layers viz. troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, ionosphere and exosphere of the atmosphere.

Structure of the Atmosphere

This lesson talks about the types of heat transfer viz. conduction, convection and radiation. It also includes the Insolation, solar radiation, solar constant, electromagnetic radiation and electromagnetic spectrum.

Insolation, Heat Transfer and Ilectromagnetic Spectrum

This lesson deals with the distribution of insolation, three zones of globe, factors affecting the distribution of insolation viz. angle of the sunrays, length of day, distance between sun and earth, sunspots, effects of atmosphere and aspects of slope.
