They are : Pre history of the South Asian Subcontinent, the Harrapan Civilization, Early States and societies, and Jainism and Buddhism. The contents of this course are based on NCERT Class 6 and NCERT Class 12 Part 1. These two books cover ancient Indian history.

Overview: Ancient Indian History (in Hindi)

This lesson talks about pre-history, proto-history and history. It discusses the stone age with specific reference to the South Asian Subcontinent. It introduces the Harappan Civilization, to be continued in the next lesson.

Pre History and finding of the Indus Valley Civilisation (in Hindi)

This lesson is an in depth discussion of the Harappan Civilization. Focus is on urban organisation, subsistence base, seals, script and religion, political structure and decline. Special emphasis is on the  type  of detail that needs to be remembered for the CSE exam.

Key Features of the Indus Valley Civilisation (in Hindi)

This lesson discusses the various texts of the Vedic Corpus. Focus is on the 4 Vedas,  the vedangana, the puranans, the epics and the dharmashastras.

Vedic Literature (in Hindi)

This lesson discusses the period between Harrapan Civilization and emergence of early States, the Mahajanapadas. Special focus is on Magadh's Maurya Dynasty and Ashok. Then it talks about the Kushans dynasty.

Early States and Societies: Part 1 (in Hindi)

This lesson discusses the chera, chola and pandya states of southern India, the Satvahanas and Shakas of Western and central India, the Gupta empire, harshavardhana, and the Pallavas and the Chalukyas. It also discusses the script and languages of the sources of early historic India.

Early States and Societies: Part 2 (in Hindi)

This lesson briefly covers the history and philosophy of Jainism and Buddhism. It also talks about the architecture of ancient temples and stupas.
