Background

About Pamed Wildlife Sanctuary
- Located near Chhattisgarh- Telangana border.
- It was established in 1983 and it focuses on wild buffalo conservation.
- It is Characterised by mixed forests with sal and teak, and habitat for gaur, leopards, sloth bear, and other species.

- Environment Ministry’s National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) Standing Committee.
Why in News?
- The NBWL has approved altering the Pamed Wildlife Sanctuary boundary to establish a CRPF jungle warfare college and camp in a Maoist-affected region.
